Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is in fair condition at a Charlotte hospital after being involved in a two-car accident on Tuesday afternoon. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Newton was transported in an ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The Panthers did not give details on the exact nature of Newtons injuries, but said he would remain at Carolinas Medical Center overnight for observation. According to the Charlotte Observer, the accident occurred at about 12:50 p.m. ET near Bank of America Stadium. The paper said one of the vehicles involved in the accident overturned.
